2010 MALAYSIAN WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 2: 14 - 16 MAY 2010

Round 2 is just 4 weeks from now. We shall be having the following categories of events for round 2 with the introduction of Shortboard (Tricks) from round 2 which means we shall have Shortboard for round 2, round 3 in July and round 4 in November. Jump will be introduced from round 3 onwards.

(A) Categories of Events

Novice Slalom

1.0 Boys & Girls (Under 10): any speed with entry & exit gates.

2.0 Boys & Girls (Under 15): any speed with entry & exit gates.

Slalom

3.0 Men & Women Intermediate: Start Speed 40kph.

4.0 Men & Women Open: Start Speed 52kph (Women starts shortening at 55kph & Men at 58kph).

Shortboard (“Tricks” from round 2)

5.0 Novice Boys & Girls (Under 10)

6.0 Novice Boys & Girls (Under 15)

7.0 Men & Women Open

Wakeboard

8.0 Men & Women Novice

9.0 Men & Women Intermediate

10.0 Men & Women Open

* Ages are calculated on the 1^st Jan 2010. Eg. If you are born on the 15^th Jan 2000, you are over 10 on the 1^st Jan 2010 and not eligible for “Under 10” category.

(B) Prize Monies

Prize Monies shall be RM300, RM200 & RM100 for all events except for Open Events which shall be RM500, RM300 & RM200 for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd.

(C) Programme

Because round 2 like last year is part of our Ministry of Youth & Sports Water Sports Carnival in celebrating World Youth Day we shall be sharing the venue at the Waater Sports Complex with Rowing, Canoeing and Dragon Boat events for the same weekend of 14-16 May 2010.

THEREFORE THE PROGRAMME WILL BE RUN AS FOLLOWS WITH NO PRACTICES AS WE HAVE ONLY BEEN ALLOTTED 4 HOURS A DAY FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY:

Friday, 14 May: All preliminary runs

Saturday, 15 May: Finals (50% of the above event categories)

Sunday, 16 May: Finals (50% of the above event categories)

Practices can be conducted by competitors anytime on Wednesday or Thursday at their own free time as they wish.
